A Power Distribution Unit (PDU) — often represented by products like remote power panels (RPPs) — receives a high-amperage input from a main power source and distributes it across multiple branch circuits. In data center and critical facility applications, wall-mounted RPPs from DEI Power accept inputs from 225A to 1600A and feed up to 84 branch circuits, providing structured, code-compliant power distribution with optional branch circuit monitoring.

Switchgear is typically used for high-voltage or higher-current applications and offers enhanced protection features with more robust interrupting capacity. Switchboards are generally used for lower-voltage distribution applications within buildings, directing power to multiple circuits. DEI Power offers both product types in NEMA 1 and NEMA 3R enclosures, ranging from 400A to 4000A, built with genuine Siemens components to UL 891 standards.

DEI Power's power distribution equipment is available in NEMA 1 enclosures for indoor, dry environments and NEMA 3R enclosures for outdoor or weather-exposed installations. NEMA 3R enclosures provide resistance to rain, sleet, and ice, making them suitable for utility applications, outdoor substations, and rooftop electrical installations.
